Interested in adopting a houseplant?

Introducing…Adopt a Houseplant @ The Davidson County Public Library

Hello, Davidson County! Do you have a plant that you are looking to rehome? Are you interested in finding a new plant to better suit your needs or interests? Do you have cuttings or propagations that you would like to share? The Adopt a Houseplant program is an opportunity for you to find an exciting new plant and meet others who also enjoy houseplants!

We are calling all houseplants lovers to come by the Davidson County Public Library and participate in our system-wide monthly plant swap program. The swap will occur at a different branch in our system every month, either Lexington, Thomasville, North Davidson, Denton, or West Davidson.

We ask that you bring what you will need for the adoption with you. Any cuttings should be exchanged in containers and/or housing. Providing written instructions on the care of each plant is recommended. Lastly, our program will operate on a take and replace model. If you are planning on adopting a plant, we ask that you bring one to contribute to the swap.

Our first adopt a houseplant date is Friday, May 13th @ 2PM at the Lexington branch located at 602 S. Main St. The program will continue every second Friday each month at a different branch, with the exception of next month. DCPL-West Davidson will host Thursday, June 9th @ 2PM and the Friday schedule will resume thereafter.
