CodeRED emergency alert system now active for Davidson County
The safety alert system CodeRED will now provide citizens with real-time updates in relation to emergencies within Davidson County.
CodeRED was originally designed by public safety officials for public safety more than 25 years ago and has helped organizations and agencies in the U.S. deliver emergency alerts quickly and reliably to help save lives. The system will provide a strong backbone for our communication strategy in Davidson County and is relied on as a solution for internal and external public alerting in more than 20 other states.
The alert system can be use to deliver the following alerts:
Missing children or persons
Evacuation notices
Police activity and updates
Severe weather warnings
Street closures
Planned power/water outages
Lockdown advisories
Viral outbreaks
First responder and dispatch situational awareness
Field operative updates
Only authorized Davidson County officials have access to send alerts using the CodeRED system. This community alert system will ensure that you remain safe and informed of important information.
