LFD was dispatched to 307-B West 5th Ave

LEXINGTON, NC – Lexington Fire Department was dispatched to 307-B West 5th Ave. at 8:41 pm last night for a residential apartment fire. The fire is currently under investigation by the City of Lexington Fire Marshal’s Office, but no injuries were reported.

When the Lexington Fire Department arrived at the residence, firefighters found smoke coming from the front and side of the apartment. Crews quickly searched to ensure all the tenants were out of the building and began working to extinguish the fire. After approximately 30 minutes, firefighters gained control of the fire.

The apartment sustained heavy fire and smoke damage throughout the residence. The Lexington Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
