On Thursday, June 6, officers with the Lexington Police Department were called to assist animal control at 101 Austin Street in reference to an animal call.

Animal control located a deceased dog and another dog that was chained to a pole. Neither dog had water, food, nor shelter.

Ronald Duron McBride, age 36, was determined to be the owner and was charged with felony animal cruelty and killing an animal by starvation.

Davidson County Animal Alliance assisted with the necropsy for the deceased dog. The other dog was seized by the Lexington Police Department and placed at the Davidson County Animal Shelter.

Ronald McBride was released under a $5,000.00 unsecured bond.
