Local porch pirates arrested

On August 1, 2024, Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office T.R.A.C.E. Team, assigned to the Special Investigations Division, arrested three individuals during the course of an ongoing theft investigation.

Detectives conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Civic in the area of Pineridge Road, Lexington and identified individuals involved in the theft of Fed Ex packages, specifically AT&T cell phones. The thefts would occur shortly after the packages were delivered to multiple residence’s in Davidson County.

As a result of the investigation, Detectives have discovered the thefts to be part of a multi-county organized theft organization which is under further investigation.

The following people were all arrested and charged with theft:

  • Paula Andrea Celis Varela

  • Jesus Abel Aponte

  • Franco Rivera Jeffrey

Paula was charged with (3) three counts of conspire to commit felony larceny, (2) two counts of felony larceny and attempted felony larceny.

Jesus was charged with (3) three counts of conspire to commit felony larceny, (2) two counts of felony larceny and attempted felony larceny.

Jeffrey was charged with (3) three counts of conspire to commit felony larceny, (2) two counts of felony larceny, and attempted larceny.

They are all scheduled to appear in Lexington Court on August 27, 2024.
