Look who's 2! It's our birthday!

Look who's 2! It's our birthday!

Hey hey! It’s our birthday!

We’re two years old today! Cue the horns, trumpets, saxophones, drums, all the instruments. Break out your dance moves. Grab you something sweet. Fill your cup up with ice water and help us toast to another year of delivering hyperlocal news.

When we started this journey in 2021, we weren’t sure how we’d be received. We knew there was a need for local news coverage. We knew we were capable of providing it. We knew people were asking for it. So, we went for it and we’re proud to say we’re still here!

We launched on Monday, April 5, 2021. Currently, we’re averaging between 30,000-40,000 views monthly with near 3,000 subscribers. If you haven’t subscribed, you can do so at www.davidsonlocal.com/subscribe. By subscribing, you’ll receive an email every morning at 7am with the latest news.

Since our birth, we’ve covered breaking news, published investigative series and profiled countless Davidson County residents. We’ve even hosted a few events! It brings a smile to our face every time we hear from readers who are grateful to have a local news source they can access for free. On the challenging days (and trust there are plenty of those) the kind words people share keep us driven to move forward.

Davidson Local is our labor of love for our community. We want you to know what’s going on in the world around you; the one you’re living, working, exercising, eating, shopping, laughing, playing in every day-the world you call home aka Lexington, Thomasville, Churchland, Denton, Silver Valley, Tyro, Wallburg, Welcome, etc.

Although we’re small in number, we have a committed team of individuals who are instrumental in helping us deliver a product worthy of your viewing. Without them, DL isn’t successful. To our team - THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

To all of our readers, subscribers, advertisers, donors and sponsors - THANK YOU! We appreciate the continued support!

If you’d like to help us celebrate, you’re invited to join the “Birthday Club” by donating $20 or more to Davidson Local. Yes, the news is free to you but it takes funds to ensure it remains that way! Donations can be made here. All Birthday Club members will be recognized on our website.

CHEERS TO LOCAL NEWS! AND BIRTHDAYS, TWO!
