DCS school board approves plans, purchases and contracts
The Davidson County Schools (DCS) Board of Education held their monthly meeting Monday, June 7 at Davis-Townsend Elementary School. Prior to the meeting, a reception was held for 2020 and 2021 retirees. Those who were present were recognized and given a gift.
Davidson County Health Department Director Lillian Koontz provided a COVID-19 update. At the time, Davidson County had the third highest positive test rate in the state. The county also continues to have a low rate of vaccinations. The department offers vaccinations Monday through Friday on a walk-in basis.

All plans, curriculum, equipment purchases and contracts were approved unanimously.

Steve Reynolds was appointed Director of Accountability and Testing
Maria McGhee was appointed Principal of North Davidson High School
Jason Lohr was appointed Principal of Ledford Middle School
Jennifer Woodrum was appointed Principal of East Davidson High School
Dr. Leah Leonard was appointed Principal of Friendship Elementary
Dr. Heather Horton was appointed Principal of Davidson Virtual Academy.
