National Weather Service issues another winter storm advisory
Residents of central NC should prepare now for winter storm conditions that will impact travel tonight through Saturday.
Expect light rain will mix with and change to snow this evening and continue overnight through Saturday morning.
An average of 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected across much of central NC.
• Localized higher amounts are possible over the western and southern NC Piedmont.
• These snow amounts will result in dangerous road conditions tonight through Saturday. The worst conditions will likely be along and west of US Highway 1, where the higher snow amounts are expected.
• Subsequent black ice concerns will persist for a couple nights thereafter.
• Wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph and locally stronger are possible tonight through Saturday morning. This could result in isolated to scattered power outages.
• Very cold temps Saturday through Sunday, with wind chill values in the teens during the daytime Saturday, and some single digits Saturday night!
