Sordid Lives: Screening and Meet the Cast event
Lexington Live Community Theatre and PFLAGlexingtonnc are presenting a Sordid Lives Screening and VIP Meet the Cast Event, which will be held at the historic Edward C. Smith Civic Center on 217 S. Main Street, Lexington, North Carolina on Saturday, February 12, 2022. VIP Reception at 5:30 PM and Screening at 7:00 PM.
Both organizations are beyond excited to collaborate and bring the cult classic movie, Sordid Lives, along with the writer/producer/director, Del Shores, and three cast members, Newell Alexander, Rosemary Alexander, and Ann Walker to Lexington for a one night only screening. The film will be introduced by the cast, who will also lead a 30 minute question and answer session to close out the event. VIP ticket holders will be able to mingle with the cast and take photos at a 5:30 Meet & Greet Reception.
The event will serve as a fundraiser for the host organizations. Lexington Live Community Theatre will use the proceeds for the continued production of live theatrical events and to promote cultural arts offerings that reflect our diverse community. PFLAGlexingtonnc will use the proceeds to fund three college scholarships awarded annually, to establish a lending library of educational resources, and to promote further events which will bring awareness, education, and celebration to our LGBTQIA+ community, their families, and friends.

Sordid Lives started as a play in a tiny theatre in Hollywood with Ann Walker, Rosemary Alexander and Newell Alexander starring in that original production 22 years ago — so for this night to benefit Lexington Live Community Theatre, along with an organization near and dear to my heart, PFLAG Lexington, makes me so happy. My favorite audiences are in the South because I never have to explain why "Latrelle" lifts up and looks at the bottom of that pie!”
