Upcoming Back 2 School events

The beginning of the 2022-23 school year is rapidly approaching. There are multiple Back 2 School events happening this month. Below are a few:

• The 5th Annual #StayLame Scholarship Fundraiser and Back-to-School Giveaway will be held Saturday, August 5 from 11am-2pm at the Lexington Senior High School bus parking lot. There will be 900 Elementary and 500 Middle/High school APPROVED CLEAR backpacks on hand- first come first serve! There will also be teacher kits available as well. Bring your school IDs. The organizers will provide several activities and games for children. Plates can also be purchased from Backyard Coals.

• The Lexington Lexington Public Library will have a Back to School Carnival on Saturday, August 19 from 10am-1pm. There will be a multitude of activities including carnival-style games, a magic show from the Great Jasino (10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.), themed music by Tuba Dave, and a dunking booth. Spin the prize wheel and play all the games for a raffle entry to win a backpack stuffed with school supplies.

• Serenity’s Closet Foundation will have their Summer Sizzle Back to School Jam on Saturday, August 26 from 11am-3pm at Breeden Amphitheater. Attendees can expect
  free school supplies, family fun, vendors and resources, live entertainment,
  bouncy houses, face painting, fire trucks and more.
