Lexington Fire Department responds to fire on Broad St.
Press Release- Just before 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, the Lexington Fire Department responded to a fire at 274 Broad St., a residential home that was found to be vacant.
Battalion Chief JD Everhart was the incident commander on the scene. Crews arrived to find that the house fully engulfed in fire. Those crews immediately began extinguishment and protection of the houses next to it.
The actions of the Lexington Fire Department did prevent the spread of the fire to any other surrounding structures and the fire was brought under control after just over an hour. The Lexington Fire Marshal’s Office is actively investigating the cause of the fire.
In addition to the Lexington Fire Department, Lexington Police Department, Davidson County EMS, West Lexington Fire Department, and the Lexington Fire Marshals Office were on scene to support and manage the situation.
