Criminal investigation leads to arrest for crimes against children

On Wednesday, January 3, 2024, Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, Internet crimes against children task force, arrested and charged Joshua A. Rojas, of Lexington, North Carolina, with 3 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

The investigation was initiated after the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office received information that Rojas was in the possession of child sexual abuse material. The investigation found that Rojas was in possession of the child sexual abuse material and was formally charged on January 3, 2024 with the above charges. Rojas was arrested and taken before a Davidson County Magistrate where he was charged with 3 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. As a result, Rojas was confined to the Davidson County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in Lexington Court on January 17, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.
