The Internet crimes against children task force arrested and charged Joshua A. Rojas, of Lexington with 3 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Subsequent to the on-scene investigation, Angie Gibbs and Derrick Garner were arrested and charged with Felony Breaking and Entering and Felony Larceny after breaking and Entering. Angie and Derrick were placed into the Davidson County Jail under no bond awaiting first appearance.
On Dec 1, 2023, Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Traffic & Criminal Enforcement Unit attended the 26th Annual Tree of Life Candlelight Vigil. The Vigil took place on the grounds of the State Capitol Building in Raleigh to honor those killed in traffic crashes on North Carolina roads.
On Monday, Nov. 20th, 2023 Stephen Grady was taken into custody where he was served with an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued for Felony Sex offender unlawfully on the premises due to residing within 1,000 feet within Lexington Senior High School. He received a $5,000 secured bond and was placed into the Davidson County Detention Center.

On September 1, 2023, Deputies arrested Shannan Hearne, owner and operator of Sun and Moon Ranch, with three counts of Felony Animal Cruelty and thirteen counts of Misdemeanor Animal Cruelty.
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is currently registering people for the Citizen’s Academy, a once-a-week session from 6:30 to 9 p.m. from March 7 to May 2. This program is free but you must be registered to attend.
