Chloe's Mindful Minute Monday: Meditation

Chloe's Mindful Minute Monday: Meditation

Hey y’all! It’s Monday and you know what that means: a new list of things to do and new stressors to make every day that much more exciting. As we go through this last Monday in October, I want to leave you with four meditations and the knowledge of how to create your own moment in any day.

What is meditation? Meditation is a practice of altering your mindset and learning to manage outside stressors through controlled breathing, quiet moments, and allowing oneself to simply…be.

Stress is probably the number one emotion people default to when thinking of meditation and how to include it in their lives. That is perfectly okay. Here are the best  meditations to combat stress:

  • Breathing

    • A minute of breathing means self control time!

  • Sleep -its precious and we all need it. For nights where you can’t quite seem to wind down, head to YouTube for a guided sleep meditation. These videos include:

    • Calming music

    • Guided soft voices to lead you into a relaxed state.

    • Hours of background music that isn’t distracting such as Netflix or television.

  • Positive Affirmations - they can range in their length but the goal is to speak results into existence. This includes:

    • Saying your affirmation in a present tense.

    • Letting go of your rational (or doubtful) thinking.

    • Acknowledging the doubtful thinking and breathe in more positive thoughts regarding your end goal.

  • Morning meditations - if you are wanting to start your day with positive energy, create a habit of spending five minutes with yourself in the mirror saying any of the following:

    • Today is a good day because I chose to let it be one.

    • I will have a good day.

    • I am enough and that is all I have ever needed to be.

I hope you choose to take one or all these tips and add them to your life! Meditation sounds daunting but at the end of the day, it is creating space for you to become your best self no matter the situation and recognizing the light within yourself.

See you all next week, Namaste!
