A second year program is kicking off in Lexington on April 5, 2025 at 10:00 am as local organizations join forces to launch a Community Youth Garden Project. Anything For Our Youth Group in partnership with First Reformed United Church of Christ. This collaborative effort aims to educate and engage young people in sustainable gardening while fostering a sense of community, responsibility, and environmental stewardship.
Events like these highlight the importance of community-driven initiatives that inspire and uplift youth. By combining art and positivity, the children at the Red Shield Club left a lasting impact, proving that even the smallest act of creativity can brighten someone’s day.

Anything For Our Youth Group Lexington proudly announces the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Art Exhibition artist reception, celebrating the creativity and talent of young artists in the community. The event will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Arts Theatre 202, located at 202 N. Main Street Lexington before the Justice & Journalism event.
All art entries must be completed and submitted to teachers, afterschool directors, or dropped off at the Arts Theater 202, located at 202 N. Main Street, Lexington, by January 13, 2025.
The Davidson County Branch NAACP Education Committee is striving to improve and increase our county residents’ awareness of the importance of celebrating Juneteenth. We are hoping that by co-sponsoring this Essay Contest, students and adults will be engaged and encouraged to talk to their teachers, parents and friends in an effort to learn more about the origin and significance of this celebration as it relates to Freedom and the hope of enjoying all the rights and privileges as an American citizen for people of color.
The Black Butterfly Network postponed From Langston to Lexington with Love Black Tie event until March 25, 2022. The event will include Lynn Marshall-Linnemeier. On Saturday, March 27th, Anything for Our Youth (AFOY) will host their Yard Sale Fundraiser from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. The sale will take place at 250 Fairview Dr. in Lexington.
