Friday, at noon, marked the end of the filing period for November’s municipal elections.
At the time publication, 30 Davidson County residents have filed for a multitude of offices.
At the time of publication, 17 candidates will have their names on the ballots in November.
Friday, June 7, marked the first day candidates could file for November’s municipal election.
The filing period will conclude on Friday, July 21 at noon.
Candidate filing is still ongoing at the Davidson County Board of Elections.
One thing there hasn’t been a shortage of is news regarding elections in 2021 and 2022.
The battle over political maps in North Carolina continues. The fight hit home yesterday as fillings began in Davidson County. Municipal candidates were permitted to file. The start of North Carolina candidate filing for U.S. House and legislative seats was blocked on early on Monday by an appeals court panel then only restored hours later by the state Court of Appeals judges.
Thomasville, Midway, Denton and Wallburg will hold municipal elections on Tuesday, November 2.
In compliance with General Statute 163-230.1(c1) the Davidson County Board of Elections will meet at the BOE office on the following dates and hours to pass upon Absentee Applications for the upcoming municipal elections.
Throughout 2022, the City of Lexington elections, judges and commissioners for Davidson County elections, and the Lexington City Schools Board of Education elections will all occur.
On November 3, municipal elections will be held in Davidson County. Lexington’s election will take place in 2022.
