Anything For Our Youth Group, Inc., Arts Davidson County, and Davidson County Historical Museum are hosting the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Art Contest and Gallery on Monday January 16, 2023 at Arts Davidson County located at 202 N. Main Street, Suite C. Lexington, NC 27295 at 5:00 pm.
Context: To commemorate the Davidson County Bicentennial, Davidson County Historical Museum will open a premier and permanent exhibit exploring 200 years of county history and more, including explorations into pre-county history with topics like ecology, geology, and Native American history.
Did you know that the county public library system has five branches plus the Davidson County Historical Museum? These branches are located in Lexington, Thomasville, North Davidson, Denton, and West Davidson.
Together the Davidson County Historical Museum, Visit Lexington, and the Thomasville Tourism Commission are inviting local breweries, wineries, cideries, coffee shops, bars, and restaurants to offer a special-edition beverage release commemorating the Davidson County Bicentennial. Qualifying special-edition beverages could include new recipes but also label and non-label releases. Inspiration behind commemorative beverages could include, but is not limited to, a place, person, object, or event in local history and can include themes that predate the founding of the county. The possibilities are endless! If desired, the museum is available to provide research assistance and inspiration behind your special-edition beverage.
