Governor Cooper discusses "Your Shot at a Million" vaccine cash drawing in Davidson County
Today, Governor Roy Cooper visited the Davidson County Health Department vaccine clinic in Lexington to see more people get their COVID-19 vaccine and talk about the Your Shot at a Million Summer Cash and College Tuition drawings for vaccinated North Carolinians. The health department has administered a majority of the vaccinations across Davidson County, administering nearly 60,400 doses.
Health department offering vaccines at Juneteenth event
On Saturday, June 19 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., the Davidson County Health Department (DCHD) will be administering COVID-19 vaccines at the Juneteenth Celebration.
Coach Josh Pittman says “Goodbye” to Lexington basketball
Former professional basketball player Abdul Joshua "Josh" Pittman has tendered his resignation as head coach in Lexington. Sunday, May 30, YaLeia Anderson was awarded a $500 scholarship by the Lexington Community Ministers Conference.
TCS to return fully to in person learning 21/22
The Thomasville City School board opened the June 1 session with no citizens’ requests. The board, led by James Carmichael, welcomed new board member Elizabeth Irizarry de Toro, who was appointed to the Board of Education by the Thomasville City Council at its April meeting.

Juneteenth celebration to focus on history, culture and art
On Saturday, June 19, Anything for Our Youth, in collaboration with City of Lexington, Davidson-Davie County Community College, Uptown Lexington, Inc., Lexington Chamber of Commerce, Lexington Visitors Center, will host the event. Admission is free to the public. Food and craft vendors will have select items for sale.

May is Get Caught Reading Month, and what a perfect month to pick up a book. Begun in 1999, Get Caught Reading Month, sponsored by the Association of American Publishing, was designed to kickstart a summer of reading for adults and children.

Davidson-Davie pharmacy tech graduates certified to give immunizations
The college and APhA will continue offering the certification opportunity as a continuing education class for qualified pharmacy technicians or state-authorized pharmacy interns, with the next in-person class scheduled for June 19.
Davidson-Davie celebrates with over 2,300 graduates
Davidson-Davie Community College celebrated the accomplishments of 2,363 graduates who earned a collective total of 1,217 associate degrees, 408 diplomas, and 1,719 certificates.
Davidson-Davie commencement modified for Friday
