Davidson-Davie celebrates close to 1,200 graduates
Davidson-Davie Community College today celebrated the accomplishments of 1,178 graduates who earned a collective total of 1,714 credentials – including 629 associate degrees, 191 diplomas, and 848 certificates. Forty-six high school students got a head start on college by pursuing transfer pathways through the Career & College Promise program.

County library policy comes under scrutiny for religious, political groups
A Davidson County library policy could be crossing the line after one mother alleges she was not allowed to set up her foster care display at an Easter egg hunt. Genevieve Traversy said a staff member pointed to a cross on her hat and shirt before referring to a policy that prohibits political and religious organizations from setting up on library property.
Lexington Senior High School principal resigns
Dr. Anitra D. Wells, superintendent of Lexington City Schools, confirmed that principal Gene Jones has resigned his position at Lexington Senior High School effective June 30, 2022. Wells wrote in a statement, “He indicated that his reason for resigning is for personal reasons.”
