Garden Window Farm, located in Denton, is hosting an outdoor farm-to-table dinner with Mano Bella Artisan Foods and Piccione Vineyards on Oct 16, starting at 5 p.m. at 1128 Surratt Rd. Tickets are on sale for $120 per person.

Hospice of Davidson County, a recognized leader in the advancement of quality end-of-life care across the Piedmont Triad region, is excited to host its Eleventh Annual Professional Conference on Grief and Loss. The 2022 Annual Conference will be held virtually on Thursday, October 6 from 9am – 3pm.

Registration fees are $180 (which includes a t-shirt) for the 12-week fall semester and parents can register their children online through the Arts Academy at Grace website. Did you know that Hospice of Davidson County offers full food services for patients and their families? When patients are cared for at the Hinkle Hospice House, they are provided 3 fresh meals a day. Families can also partake in the meal options as they spend time with their loved ones.
Owens & Minor and United Way of Davidson County are teaming up once again to host their 2022 golf tournament on Friday, September 9th, at Lexington Golf Club, 200 Country Club Blvd, Lexington, North Carolina.
The tournament will be a four-person captain’s choice format. This year there will be morning and afternoon rounds starting at 8:45 am and 1:30 pm. Check-in for each round will be 30 minutes prior to the start. The cost is $75 per person or $300 per team. This price includes lunch, one mulligan per player per side, and one tee buster per player per round. If we see enough interest, we will add an afternoon round to avoid slow play. The deadline for registration is August 31.
Robert, Lori and Stephanie Wilkerson of Davidson County were honored as the 2021-22 Distinguished Civitan Family by North Carolina District West Civitan. Criteria for the family award include activities in Civitan, church and community. The district also presented Stephanie Wilkerson with The Honor Key Award for 2022. She served as the growth and retention chair this past year for the district and earned the outstanding cabinet member award. In May she had received the
North Carolina YMCAs, including the J. Smith Young YMCA, are helping students build relationship skills and manage their emotions, which improves academic performance, confidence and behavior in the classroom and beyond.

It was late 2021 when Socarras was named Miss Lexington’s Outstanding Teen 2022. Her passion and social impact initiative, another term for a platform in the Miss America system, is Share a Spare, which emphasizes kidney disease. As an ambassador of the National Kidney Foundation of North Carolina, Socarras has attended meetings with nephrologists, kidney disease patients, recipients of kidney implants and kidney donors; it’s all a way to learn more about kidney disease and how to spread awareness about it.
This July marks the 65th Anniversary of the Fair Grove Fire Department Inc. In the beginning, several Fair Grove community members came together to try and form a Volunteer Fire Department for the purpose of protecting the citizens of the Fair Grove and surrounding communities.
