US Congressman Ted Budd and USDOT Federal Railroad Administrator Amit Bose Arriving to Award BUILD Grant for Lexington Train Station. Comments at Noon on Wednesday, Sept. 28.
During the September 12 meeting, City Council approved the grant cooperative agreement between the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) and the City of Lexington.
Davidson County has been named by the Center for Digital Government as one of the Top 10 Digital Counties Survey Awards winners, among counties across the nation with a population between 150,000 and 249,999 people.
Davidson County residents are included in a few communities invited to weigh in on election protocol. Debates surrounding dates, hours and locations for early voting typically fall along party lines. While many party leaders encourage voting, when and where that happens is often left for scrutiny by governing bodies. In the case of the November 8, 2022 election parties, local leaders are promoting the public comment period due to close on 5 p.m. Friday, September 9 for Davidson County voters.
Send your comments to The State Board of Elections. At its September 13, 2022 meeting, will adopt one-stop early voting plans for county boards of elections that did not adopt unanimous plans and petitioned the State Board to adopt a plan for them.
Davidson County is getting its first intercity bus service that will connect the county to several other cities across the state on a daily basis. Sunway Charters, based in Winston-Salem, has started a mid-state express service from Winston-Salem to Fayetteville with stops in Lexington, High Point, Asheboro, Siler City and Sanford.
On August 18, 2022, Felicia Biddix was arrested on a warrant for arrest for Felony Obstruction of Justice for actions she was involved in as a Lexington Police Officer. This arrest was made by the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office in consultation with the District Attorney’s Office. Felicia Biddix was released under a $5,000 unsecured bond.

The Davidson County Republican Women's Club is hosting their second annual Conservative Conversations and Cookout. A multicultural committee formed in 2012 was recently dissolved by the city of Thomasville. The unanimous vote by the council cited “over the past several years, the multicultural committee has deviated from the primary mission of promoting and embracing all of the community's cultures and has expressed interest in focusing on a more narrowly tailored group of cultures,” and in a resolution to dissolve the group.

Firefighters arrived at 5:32 pm to find smoke and flames. Crews quickly began extinguishing the fire and searching for possible victims. All occupants had exited the house before the fire department's arrival. However, one occupant, an adult male, had suffered some smoke inhalation. He was treated and transported to Wake Forrest Baptist – Lexington Medical Center by Davidson County EMS.
Organizers invite the public to come out to Downtown Thomasville on Monday, May 30th at 9:00am the our annual Memorial Day Parade. The parade will start at The Big Chair and go down Salem Street towards Memorial Park Dr. This event is hosted by the NC Memorial Day Parade Committee. The Grand Marshal for this year is Lt. Governor Mark Robinson.
