Anything For Our Youth Group of Lexington, NC, will host their annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. youth art gallery and exhibition. The event will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024; 5:00 p.m. at the Arts | Theatre 202 located at 202 N. Main Street, Lexington, NC.
2024 MLK-SAC National Holiday Observance Events. The local theme is “Knowledge is Never Wisdom Until it is Shared.”

St. Stephen United Methodist Church in Uptown Lexington is adorned with numerous colorful stained glass windows that have a very regal presence and a story of their own.
All youth artists, from K-2nd grade; 3rd -5th; 6th -8th to 9th–12th grade, are invited to participate. Entries will be categorized by age groups and judged by a panel of local artists. Artwork should focus on themes related to the Civil Rights Movement of 1964 or Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s life. Submissions must be completed labeled with name, grade, and school name (not required) and delivered to teachers, afterschool directors, or dropped off at the Arts Theater 202 by January 5, 2024.
Local country musician Braden Hull will share comfort and joy through a free Christmas concert from 7-10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec.14 at High Rock Church, 135 Lowes Blvd, Lexington.
The upcoming Lexington Book Festival will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Arts Davidson County at 202 North Main Street in Lexington. This book festival is made possible by a grant from North Carolina Humanities, a statewide nonprofit and the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
The event will take place on Main Street from 6-8 PM on December 15. The mission of this event is to provide a free, fun, and family-friendly gathering,
The winning entries were professionally framed and returned to the artist along with 20 cards featuring their artwork to share with family and friends.
Holt attended Hargrave Military Academy, before enrolling at Virginia Tech University, where he lettered four years on the football team - winning 3 ACC Championships.
Goose and Monkey Brewhouse won the Silver Medal in the North Carolina Brewers Cup Competition American Amber Lager Category for Seductive Mullet. This is the first state medal for owners Brent and Ashlee Moore. The GMBH team previously won Carolina's Championship of Beer, the World Beer Cup and the Great American Beer Festival.
