LEXINGTON, NC – Lexington Police Officers attempted a vehicle stop on a U-Haul box truck on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 4:51 pm on South Main Street at Fowler Avenue. The purpose of the stop was that the driver of the vehicle, Jonathan Dillon, age 31, had outstanding felony warrants. Dillon failed to stop for officers and led them on a pursuit, which lasted 24 miles.
On Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 1:10 pm, multiple emergency personnel units responded to the area of I85 southbound near Fisher Ferry Street in reference to a traffic accident where one patient was reportedly pinned underneath a vehicle.

After being notified of a bite incident involving a skunk on December 3rd, 2023 Animal Control was able to safely remove the animal from the property and recommend it be tested for the rabies virus. The individual involved did promptly seek postexposure prophylaxis treatment. This incident occurred near US Hwy 64 in Lexington North Carolina.

At around 11:38 p.m. on Friday, firefighters got an alert about a working structure fire on the 900 block of Rosedale Drive. Details are still under investigation.
On Monday, Nov. 20th, 2023 Stephen Grady was taken into custody where he was served with an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued for Felony Sex offender unlawfully on the premises due to residing within 1,000 feet within Lexington Senior High School. He received a $5,000 secured bond and was placed into the Davidson County Detention Center.
During the investigation, it was determined through interviews and veterinary documentation, that a horse and a cow had possibly been shot with Black Powder Shot and are currently going through medical treatment at this time.

On Sunday, November 12, 2023, Lexington Police Officers arrested 42-year-old Aimee Lakey concerning a fire on Main Street on October 28. Lakey was charged with burning of a church, and bond has been set at $25,000. The church is owned by Jesus Comes First Ministries.
